Why no password for main website account?

I just joined and on the main website (not these forums) a member can log into his account. However, in order to log in to your account all a person needs is your member number and your email address. If you use your ID card for anything people have your member number and many places (like hotels) have your email address. So anyone with this info can log in as you and after doing so they can see your full info including home address and birth date!

So why is the main website account not password protected?

Just checked today and it appears as though my suggestion was implemented. It now requires a password to log in.

Also, a new message board is in development to incorporate the AMAC login so you wont have 2 separate logins.
