I am a Vietnam veteran and a NRA life member since 1978. I feel as if there are liberals in this country that are constantly wanting to take our guns. Our guns are here to keep a tyranny government from taken over. It also a great sport if handled properly as millions of Americans enjoy. I get so sick and tired of the radicals that believe we should not be allowed to do or have anything they believe is wrong and they want power and control.
Humtex, first of all thank you for your service to our nation. I agree wholeheartedlyl with you. I enjoy my guns on a personal and sporting level, but I am always mindful of the responsibility we have as citizens to protect ourselves from tyranny of government and administation. It's important to remember that rights that are not practiced are rights that are wasted.
Not to mention the need for EVERYONE to be armed if radical religious groups come calling on U.S. soil. There is a reason no country (outside of Great Britain in the War of 1812) has attempted to invade the U.S. It is because they know the people are armed. Most don't know that the war with Islamic extremist has gone on since Revolutinary war times. The first purpose of the U.S. navy when formed was to conduct police action against piracy on the Atlantic by Muslim pirates acting out of the Western coast of Africa. Muslim pirates targeted the newly formed U.S.A. back then and Muslims are still targeting the U.S.A. today. How little has changed in the last 250 years.
Yes - thank you to who all have served in the military; my husband had also served in Army '71-'74.
My husband and I are firearm collectors (rifles and pistols), reloaders, and target shooters. I am a certified NRA Range Safety Officer.
We are long time supporters to the Palm Beach Arms Collectors (former members); lifetime members to NRA and annual members to many other 2nd amendment groups; and members of many blogs and groups. We attend gun shows (fewer than past - but still very active).
If you should have any questions concerning this topic - you may post them here or private message me. We will answer them as quickly as we can. And if we do NOT know the answer - we will find them and share them with you along with the source.
Respectfully, K

Thanks to all who have worn this country's uniform.....I deeply respect and honor you for your service.
Thanks to everyone here who is a NRA Member as well....I currently serve on the NRA Board and would like to personally invite you to message me should you need a thing.
I concur with all who responded. My biggest concern is that we have millions of hunters who don't seem to understand that to enjoy the PRIVILEGE of hunting we must preserve the RIGHT to bear arms. After you join the NRA, then and only then, buy your hunting license! I was in the Corps from 53 to 56, armorer, team shooter and marksmanship instructor. Became lifetime member of NRA in early 60s, signed up 100 new members during our push to get 1,000,000 members, bought lifetime memberships for my 3 sons and 2 grandsons and all but one served our country. We need so many more to demand that our government obey ALL of the Constitution, not just the parts they choose to, like our shameful Supreme Court. Laws are not liberal or conservative (it's supposed to be blind)!!!
Our precious Second Amendment does NOT cost lives, it SAVES lives.
I am a lifetime NRA member, and are proud of it.Our forefather had all this in mind, what is going on now, when they wrote the 2nd amendment,God Bless America
The Second Amendment enshrines the pre-existing, God-given human right of self-preservation in our Founding documents. There was clear reason it was included in such a way. I am an NRA Life member and part-time firearms instructor, partly because I enjoy shooting, and partly because I know that I am, by default, my own first responder if an existential threat appears, whether that threat is in the form of an individual assailant or Government-sanctioned.
