Saw the new Godzillamovie the weekend it came out. Grew up watching the original TOHO movies as a kid and have been a big fan of the "Big G" ever since I saw "Godzilla vs. the Thing" in the movie theatre back in the 1960's. So I was anxious to see the new movie. Like many others, I did not care for the last American version starring Matthew Broderick so I was hoping this 2014 version would be a vast improvement. I enjoyed it! The movie did a great job in creating the illusion of immense size of Godzilla and the creatures it fought. Yes, it was a bit slow in getting off the ground but the battle scenes were epic. I usually don't go to see movies in the theatres any more but I had to see this on the big screen and glad I went. Only complaint, which I have with most movies/books/comics/TV shows, was the cursing - which was actually at a minimum. Anyway, was impressed by the new 40-story high Godzilla!
We saw Godzilla too, and liked it a lot. We saw it in 3D and enjoyed it very much. Seems like through the years Godzilla has gotten bigger and bigger. If they bring King Kong back, he'll be a mega giant.
Doing a new King Kong vs. Godzilla would be interesting! I just watched the original King Kong vs. Godzilla on DVD (first appearance of Godzilla - and King Kong - in color) and it was fun although a bit silly in places. I read they DO plan on making another Godzilla movie and I wonder what the story line will be. In the first movie Godzilla helped mankind (although he sure made a mess!) so perhaps in the second movie Godzilla will see mankind as a threat to the earth and war against everybody and we have to figure out a way to stop him.
I think a Godzilla vs King Kong would be a lot of fun to view.I hear they are doing another Jurassic Park. Another Jaws might be fun, but Jaws 1 can't be beat. Don't forget we have another Sharknado coming out soon.
