Taxes has been a major problem with this Nation from ever before it became the United States of America. Taxes appear to have been treated honesty up until Pres. Lincoln needed money to finance the so called Civil War.  The 1862 Tax Act began our politician's tax war on American citizens.  It laid a (British style) income tax on a percentage of the earnings (renamed 'income") of all American citizens and residents. It also laid an 'employement' (federal benefit) tax on all the wages of federal employees.  Over the years, these two taxes have become merged into the (Normal) "Income Tax" we have today... AND the Supreme Court has ruled many times on Income Tax cases, several times calling 'it' unconstitutional, but eventually (since the 16th Amendment) declaring an Excise/privilege style income tax is Constitutional and must be applied "uniformly" across all the states.   BUT, the Supremes has also ruled that the federal government can NOT tax the earnings of citizens of the several states from non-government sources without going through the 'apportionment' process; while on the other hand, individuals in the federal jurisdiction may indeed have all of their earnings from government sources directly or indirectly taxed.

That means that TODAYS INCOME TAXES only apply to the relatively FEW persons receiving earnings from GOVERNMENT SOURCES! FACT: Citizens of the 50 states ARE NOT MADE LIABLE BY THE LAW TO PAY AN INCOME TAX!

Anyone who says otherwise is lying to you UNTIL they show you the sections of the legeslated Act and its implementing SUBSTANTIVE Regulations that says state citizens "are made liable" for such tax laws & its tax!

We need AMAC to understand that and deal with the tax laws from THAT understanding as to how the GOVERNMENT has been screwing us BIG TIME for a long time.

I don't think your argument would ever fly, but taxes are certainly a sore spot with all who pay them.  I am absolutely amazed that our politicians seem unaware that the U.S. came into being precisely because the people were tired of taxation without representation; taxation with what passes for representation today ain't so hot either!
