If you live in vacinity of Portland area, it's very likely you have not heard about this location, and yet it sits in our very mists. It's called "Lil' Crater Lake" and although it's not as large as it's name sake, it's every bit as magnificant and wonderous. If you head up Mt. Hood from Portland, on your right hand side you will see a sign stating "Timothy Lake" exit, and most of us have been there. Before you get Timothy Lake, on your right hand side is a small and uneventful sign stating "Little Crater Lake". You keep driving until you come around the side of a camping grounds, and there is a small parking lot. You park there and proceed on foot approximately 1/4 mile accross a field meadow to where the "Little Crater Lake" is at and behold it's mirror clear water clear down to the bottom. It's believed to be formed from underground springs, and very cold water. If you look closely you may even see wild life or signs of them coming around the lake for that cool drink of water.
