maybe it's just me but I almost didn't register because I had to type the 2 words like 3 times before I got them right because I couldn't read the words they are asking me to type.
Probably not a good thing making it hard to register for a mature citizen site

I agree 100%. I know my eyes are not what they used to be and probably a lot of those who are here are in the same predicament. When I go to sign up anywhere, here included, I had to do numerous attempts beforeI was successful. I understand why it is done, but it truly is hard on many, especially seniors.
Personally I have a good magnifying glass that allows me to see some things much better on my computer monitor. Sometimes if those jumbled up letters are larger I can figure out what they are supposed to be, sometimes even that does not help me out.......

Has simular problem. Sometimes one letter covers part of another. Also, are we supposed to put spaces between the letters or just try to put them in the box?
Unfortunately it is necessary to keep SPAM off of our forums and website, especially for a high profile website like AMAC.
In fact when we first launched this forum we didn't have a "captcha" and were bombarded with 20-50 spam posts in one day. Needless to say there was a lot of cleaning up I had to do and the "captcha" was put in place right away.
I do agree, I hate when I sign up for something and have to decode the letters and those security folk are constantly working on other methods but as of now this is the best way. I apologize for the inconvenience. You can also contact support for help! Chances are you'll get me, hah!
