There are some places that are always hiring.  Mercy Hospital St. Louis is one place that abides by the rules when it comes to hiring.  And they don't seem to mind hiring someone that is over the age of 50 to work for them.   I was telling my supervisor that I have know about one thing about hiring a senior citizen as a floor tech.  However, some corporate ownership of some other companies are always hiring seems to enjoy screwing up.  When I visit Kaldi's Coffee in Kirkwood or Kayak's Coffee near Forest Park, the young coffee baristas state that they wouldn't mind a guy that is a senior citizen working there.  And those coffee baristas sometimes hates what corporate is doing to them.  And when you confront corporate about it, the people working in corporate would lie about what they are doing wrong.  At Waterway carwash, some of the young people don't seem to mind me coming in and watching the cars go thru the wash and they don't seem to mind having a U.S. Korean war veteran working for them.  The senior citizens could long remember the time when many tunnel like car washes were the "hook 'n' chain" types where the attendant would hook your car to a moving chain to pull your car thru the wash.  Here are some links to those who are always hiring:

Kaldi's Coffee often has career fairs and they are mostly held at the corporate office which is located at 3983 Gratiot Street.  the next one is coming up is at the office and it is on April 21st from 3 to 5 PM.  Metro offers a service for seniors to take them to work called Call-a-Ride.  To register, customers are urged to call 314-981-`5`0 for an application.  After the app is filled out, and approved and once you are in the system, you call 314-652-3617 for reservations anytime between 7:30 AM to 4:30 Monday thru Sunday.
