It was recently pointed out to me that upon my passing, the state (government), would take control of all of my internet dealings, which includes email, Facebook, Internet accounts like AOL, banking, insurance and more Under the guise of privacy. My family would not be able access any of it unless appointed a fiduciary of my estate. As in most families, my wife and I have divided our duties according to who can best deal with them. She handles finance, I do medical and so on. Imagine, if you should pass suddenly and the state takes over your accounts, how will you or your family take care of things like your bills, your mortgage, etc.?
I found this to not only be ludicrous but infuriating. To say your family, who share your most private dealings, are to be excluded from having control of your internet accounts!
This is one more shackle used by the government to control your every move. There are 18 or so states that have adopted this legislation. Somehow they slipped it by us in their typically shady style. We must fight against this kind of government control. It's none of their business what my family does on the net And they have no right to information they claim is private. If it's private how can they claim they gave a right to it. Our families, especially our spouses will suffer from it. It will make things extremely difficult for them at a time when they are probably grieving an dealing with funeral arrangements.
Say no to this piracy. The government has no right to our personal property, which is what this is. They have no right to hijack control of or finances. Our families will suffer greatly.
