I am new to this and this is my 2nd post. Thought I would provide some insight and get feedback on the work that is going on to implement The Fair Tax (not the Flat Tax). There are 2 bills, one in the Senate (S 122) and one in the House (HR 25) to try to replace the ridiculous current income tax code with The Fair Tax. I have spent a long time researching The Fair Tax and I cannot think of any other single change we could make in America that would have a bigger, more positive impact than this.
The Fair Tax has 75 Sponsors in the House and 8 Sponsors in the Senate. A major problem with The Fair Tax is it will take a substantial amount of power away from Washington politicians and, therefore, most of them are against this effort. However, the benefits to the country are immense and must come from us who will press our local and federal politicians to do the right thing. The Florida legislature has already been convinced and has sent a letter to the current administration to consider approving The Fair Tax. Other efforts are under way around the country to get more and more good Americans involved in this effort. What will you do to help?
I totally agree that something has to be done about taxes and the IRS and all the corruption. Is there a link that would simply explain the difference between the FAIR tax and the FLAT tax?

Thank you for the link. It is exactly what I have been looking for. Glad to see that Social Security will be ok and the inheritance/estate tax will be gone. Also, the consumption tax will be much more fair to everyone, and the illegals will be paying their way.

What can we do to get AMAC to start promoting the FairTax? I have always liked it. I'm sure many members are aware that the 2nd plank of the Communist Manifesto is to implement a "heavy progressive or graduated income tax" - this alone is reason enough for me to fight for repeal of C.A. # 16 (and # 17 needs to go as well)
