Thank you for starting this topic ghowes; great source of information.

My husband and I are firearm collectors (rifles and pistols), reloaders, and target shooters. I am a certified NRA Range Safety Officer.

We are long time supporters to the Palm Beach Arms Collectors (former members); lifetime members to NRA and annual members to many other 2nd amendment groups; and members of many blogs and groups. We attend gun shows (fewer than past - but still very active).

If you should have any questions concerning this topic - you may post them here or private message me. We will answer them as quickly as we can. And if we do NOT know the answer - we will find them and share them with you along with the source.

Respectfully,
K

Thanks for setting up a site for gunsmithing! For me, it's reassuring to know the information is being made available. I have just acquired even more appreciation for a good gunsmith.

About two weeks ago I put a Geissele 2 Stage (G2S) trigger into my AR. A gun magazine had made it all sound so easy --- about like changing batteries in a flashlight. I opened the trigger's package and the directions said to take it to a gunsmith, but I relied on that gun magazine article I had read. Little did I know.

Getting that trigger in might have taken a gunsmith fifteen minutes, but it took me all morning and I had a sore thumb at the end from holding the springs down. I probably did that part the hard way. Had I not gotten lucky with pin alignment, it might have taken all day installing that trigger. However, it worked in the end. The gun shoots much, much better now.

Even though it worked in the end, I learned my lesson. Days later I needed to replace some standard pistol sights with night sights. I went straight to a gunsmith, despite a friend's casual assurance I could do it myself with little more than a brass punch. I knew better this time. I watch the gunsmith do those sights and I was really glad it was him doing it and not me.

You gunsmiths are a great resource! I hope your  site gets a flood of visitors.
