I just joined, after starting to understand how liberal AARP is.  I look forward to retiring in a few years.   I would like to enjoy collecting SS and Medicare, but we need to find a way to pay for our social programs.

You paid into your Social Security, and you pay for your Medicare. You will still pay your Medicare when you do retire.
