I just joined the forum 10 minutes ago and AMAC a week ago. I'm glad to be associated with a group who are fighting for freedom and respect for seniors. My main interest now is defeating Common Core in our schools. I am a member of the 912 Project, the Tea Party, and Freedomworks. I also am a follower of Glenn Beck since he started at Fox News. My finances and physical condition haven't allowed me to attend any rallies or contributed a lot to these movements, but I am spreading the word to all who will listen. I find it infuriating when people walk away when I start talking about Common Core and the damage it's doing to our kids education.
I've been a skilled tradesman all my life and only retired because I couldn't find a job. I'm disabled only because I can't stand for 8 hours anymore. I would like to teach basic metalworking skills, but nobody is teaching in NY anymore. I feel all my skill and experience is being wasted. I think I've said enough.
Curious where in "Upstate NY" you're from. I lived in Brockport (25 miles west of Rochester) back in the 60s, and used to visit Ithaca on Cayuga Lake each summer with my family back in the 50s. Do you live near either of those areas?
