Scaatylobo--Sure I'm interested in "prepping". Interested in knowing what it means anyway. I'm not alwys up on the latest trends so could you help me understand what it is you are asking?
Yes I would be interested in whatever you might have on the subject. (I suppose you mean other than Living Wills and End of Life Directives.)
Briefly stated, the most significant thing I think one can do to prepare for leaving this world is to make sure they have a good relationship with God. Secondary to that is to do what one can do to leave their spouse (or anyone else who may be dependent upon them) in as good a situation as they can for the duration of their lives here.
FOTH, are you thinking of it as "end of [one's] life?" I think (correct me if I'm wrong, scaatylobo) that the reference isn't to one's own life but, rather, to a breakdown of civil society, as described in http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Prepper.
AND if you want a biblical reference "G-D helps those that help themselves" is about where that falls under.Yes its a paraphrase but I bet you understand.
I know many 'preppers' from the web and in person, most are very grounded people and do not wear an aluminum hat !.
All one needs do is look to NYC and NJ to see waht not being prepared can do to you and your family, they suffered a HUGE shtf moment with a storm that took parts of those city's that will never return.
I am a 70+ prepper. I am married and have family in the area, so we are planning to "bug in". My son preps, but my daughters don't. My biggest worry is looters and marauders (i.e. zombies).
The most overlooked consideration of preparing for long term kaos is that your water supply and sanitary disposal will be the firest to go in an urban or suburban situation and to negate this consequence you must have a relocation plan as of day 1
