I wanted to let you know about a new petition I created on We the People, a new feature on WhiteHouse.gov, and ask for your support. Will you add your name to mine? If this petition gets 100,000 signatures by April 04, 2013, the White House will review it and respond!
We the People allows anyone to create and sign petitions asking the Obama Administration to take action on a range of issues. If a petition gets enough support, the Obama Administration will issue an official response.

Re-establish tours of the White House by reducing the First Families' household entertainment and travel budget.
The Obama Administration has decided to stop all tours of the White House which is the "People's House". These tours are led by volunteers and provide the visitor the opportunity to see the house that the populace of the USA has built for the leader of the free world. These tours are educational to citizens and visitors and provide revenue to many businesses throughout Washington, DC. As citizens of this great Republic, we expect access to the White House. We also expect that any additional expenses for these tours be part of the budget. We expect the White House and our representatives to tighten their budgets in other areas. The "People's House" should never be locked to the people who pay for its existence. As American citizens, we expect to be holders of the key
I do not wish to be cynical, but with the record this administration has concerning the trampling of the constitution and other odious things, do you honestly think a petition is worth more than a hill of beans to them?
