- How much pressure was put on the workers to attend the President's speech about sequestration yesterday? Maybe it's not a surprise that so many Democrats (i.e., union members) could be persuaded to hear the Big Spender present his distorted view of the cause of sequestration.
- Is that shipyard working on a fixed price contract, or on a time and materials type of contract? If it's a time and materials (cost plus fixed fee) contract, will the shipyard be allowed to include the wasted time of all those workers listening to Obama in their reimbursable overhead cost? If so, that means that we taxpayers were paying those workers to listen to Obama. If it's a fixed price contract, want to bet that the shipyard will file a change order to recover their costs of having the workers attend the speech? Surely the original shipyard contract didn't include "attending a speech by the President" in the scope of work that the government agreed to pay for (sic). Again, we the taxpayers will pay for the workers to have listened to Obama.
- Then there's the cost of some governmental agency (FBI, CIA or whoever) doing background checks on the workers who attended to make sure they were all registered Democrats, and not a threat to Obama's safety. Again, we the taxpayers paid for that charade.
What a waste of taxpayer money!!!
