Every year we pause to honor those members of the United States armed forces who have been captured or have gone missing during combat operations. For those brave soldiers, sailors, airmen and marines, we are eternally grateful for your dedication and sacrifice. For family members who have often lived years in fear and uncertainty, our nation owes you a debt of gratitude. National POW/MIA Recognition Day is an opportunity for us to remember the valiant service of POWs and those MIA. We will never forget the service they rendered and their vigilant and humble devotion to America.
