Schools saying the pledge of Alligence

A question came up at friends get together.  Do schools still say the pledge of Allegiance in the mornings at school?   One person from California says they stopped saying it in 1968 or 69.  Another says ALL schools still say it daily.  I know we are all past school age, but maybe you can ask your grand kids and see what they say, and let us know on here.

Personally, I was shocked to hear that it was no longer being said.  Would appreciate all input.

Here is one area where you legally can't even recite the Pledge in public schools.

Flap After Court Rules Pledge of Allegiance Unconstitutional

Politicians on both sides of the aisle decried a federal appeals court's declaration that reciting the Pledge of Allegiance in public schools is unconstitutional because of the words "under God" inserted by Congress in 1954.

The Wednesday ruling, if allowed to stand, would mean schoolchildren could no longer recite the pledge, at least in the nine Western states covered by the court.

Before I retired from teaching in 2007, my school, here in El Paso, TX, and all the other schools in my district, still recited the entire Pledge of Allegiance, including the words “under God.”

It is kinda odd. Most major cities, (people I have talked with from them) say they say the pledge in the schools. One rural friend said he thinks his kids say it "sometimes". A guy from River Rouge, Mich says they do not... I am going to have to ask some kids here in Las Vegas, NV. The Clark County School District (CCSD) says all children say it.
