Carlos Santana has a new album out titled “Shape Shifter.” Thank goodness this one is all instrumentals.I kinda got tired of his guest vocalists on many ofhis other albums.I started listening to Santana in the mid sixties, and still enjoy many of his songs. His son, Salvador, a pianist, joins him on several tracks of this new album.Carlos is 65 (my age) and shows no sign of slowing down.
I love Santana's music; haven't heard his latest though. I also love David Gilmour, Eric Clapton, Eddie Van Halen, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Albert Collins and many more. I agree with you about Santana's earlier albums having all the guest vocalists. He has really had a fantastic career. I didn't know that he had a son who played piano. I also love Dave Matthews and there's a guy who plays guitar with him sometimes by the name of Tim Reynolds and he's really good. I've been to two of their concerts and they sound just as good in person as they do on their CDs.
