Obama and Hillary Clinton are giving away our sovereignty.

no Our illustrious news media is totally, conveniently ignoring the fact that under our very noses, the Obama administration is secretly trying to give away our sovereignty by using international treaties to bypass our Constitution and will use the same Constituion to keep these nefarious treaties in place. Consider the following:

The Law of The Sea Treaty will oblige the U.S. to pay on half of offshore drilling royalties to a newly created entity which includes 160 member nations, while the U.S. would only have one vote as to how these confiscatory royalties will be used.

The "Code of Conduct In Outer Space Treaty, under the guise of fighting debris in outer space (I kid you not) will eliminate any future use of space-centered interceptors to shoot down missiles targeting the U.S.

Through a U.N. agreement, the administration would circumvent the second amendment's right to own guns provision.

Remember that under the "Supremacy Clause" in the Constitution, once these international treaties are in place, they can only be repealed through a Constitutional amendment or the international body in question will vote to allow us to end our involvement (fat chance of that happening).  These treaties would only be voted in the Senate (guess who's in charge there), so please, CONTACT YOUR LOCAL U.S. SENATOR  and urge him/her not to support these dangerous treaties and SPREAD THE WORD - these issues are being conveniently ignored by the accommodating liberal media.

God bless you and stay sovereign.

Yes, this Administration abandoned our Constitution and is more interested in United Nations and other international institutional laws and right. Pity that!

MOLON LABE!

I agree 100% we will see this very soon after the Obama administration gets reelected. They will lie to us saying it is for the good and harmony of the "world".

The signing of this treaty will take place the same time as the start of the olympics. In doing it this way, peoples attention will be on the olympics, and not on how the 2nd amendment will become in jepordy.

I was once told that our forefathers wanted the U.S. to be an independent counrty. They set up rules that IF the Government signed any treaties, they would over ride the Constitution. They did this to stop us from forming alliances that may hurt the general populace. I think our Congress has forgotten, or ignored this.

The Constitution of the United States is very specific about treaties.  The supreme Court has upheald the idea that a properly retified treaty trumps the constitution.  The operative words here are PROPERLY RATIFIED.

For what it is worth, any President  can sign a treaty or have the current Secretary of state sign a Treaty.  Just because a President and/or his Secretary of State signs a treaty does not make it law in the United States.  There have been many instances of presidents and Secretaies of State signing a treaty for international political reasons.  This means nothing by itself.  In it's worst case senerio is a President who is truly in favor of a treaty, can issue an executive order to have the aprpopriate Executive Department enforce the treaty.  However, the next president can issue an executive order that overrides or rescinds the former order.

Article 2 Section 2 Paragraph 2 of the Constitution requires a two-thirrds majority of the Senate to ratify any treaty in order for it to have the force of law.    The three treaties cited in this post have the proverbial snowball's chance in hades of being ratified.  If I am not mistaken, these treaties have been around for over 20 years and have not been ratified.
