Is it true that the Health Care Law provides for independent panels that will review if a patient should be treated for specific conditions after age 75? That the doctors will not have authority to treat their patient until he gets approval from the review panel and this may cause deaths if not done in a timely manner? If so, what is the specific language in the law that covers this?
I believe the answer to all of your questions is YES. However, it is not that clear cut. Here is a good atrticle that explains how it will work and how the country was lied too.
I'm not sure if hyperlinks will work on this forum as the icon for including a link is grayed out, so you might have to copy and paste this address to your brouser.
being in the medical and health insurance field (I am an RN case manager) I truly do NOT think this will ever be passed. Gerontology is going to be a lucrative field soon- people are living longer every year. We all take the hippocratic oath- that is to do no harm. What no one ever mentions is that the patient will receive the care from th MD wheter or not it is approved by the insurance companies: the patient is NOT charged for the bill- the cost is on the hospital . We treat indigent patients all the time. ( thus, the high taxes the rest iof us have to pay). What Obama wants is Taliban healthcare- the terrorists can sit there and determine if someone is important enough to receive care. The Taliban will make the decison and the MD will comply: I believe our healthcare system will resist this-no MD or nurse is going to look at a patient and say--oh, forget it, you're not worth it--
as Teaman says, it's not clear cut but we are so overwrought with rules and regs now, it is hard to practice. I am wary of what the final decision will be; but I truly do NOT think it will be that bad: no MD or RN wants to make that sort of decision--and anyway, the lawyers will sue....
I agree, and this current "leader" is aiming at a one world government, over the bodies of Americans. Because we have not heeded the ways of the past, we are DOOMED to repeat them, and this time our leaders have us weak enough as to where we will not survive.
My mother used to say "Thank God I am on my way out" and I thought she was just talking about bodily aches and pains. Now I know she was talking about what our government leaders are doing to us. People need to wake up, and what they smell will not be the roses, it will be death, distruction and the failing of the American way.
